Polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA), an intracellular polyester synthesized by many microorganisms, is a natural polymer biomaterial with good biocompatibility, biodegradability, and thermal processing properties of plastics. PHA It also has high value-added properties such as non-linear optics, piezoelectricity, gas phase separation, hydrolytic stability, and UV stability, making it useful in packaging materials and other fields. It is an environmentally friendly bioplastic with good performance, and The production of PHA is a production of low energy consumption and low carbon dioxide formulations that are good for the environment. Among them, the third-generation PHA was first mass-produced by Tsinghua University and its partner companies. In recent years, China's research in this area has made considerable progress, and it has mastered a number of strains with proprietary intellectual property rights and late-stage technology, laying a good foundation for the future industrialization of PHA as a biological material with independent intellectual property rights in China.
